Shooting stars all
Ashen faced; us, the dust floating aimlessly
feeling unimportant and dull.
We aim for something so much bigger.
We collide and burn in fiery flash
the other motes, watch and applaud.
We the shooting star; fleeting, bow out,
and encourage the others.
Like petals falling from the flower of hope
Trekking and heaping the sand
we walk on this pebble, circling a stark plug
and build our little kingdoms.
At night we look up and see
the shooting stars and contemplate our mortality.
Knowing we are drawn to something so much bigger,
and we burn on entry to our heaven.
A fiery death, that cleanses and embraces our humanity.
