A walk........

Shall we go for a walk? What a simple and beautiful invitation. The mrs and I strolled down to the beach in the dark seeking we knew not, but seeking. The wind cold but not unpleasantly so. The dark making the heart pick up in pace but not race. And the sound. The constant rolling of waves grasping for the land. Our hands grasping each other for a bolstering of boldness. I say we did not know what we sought but deep down it was a meeting with honesty and a call for Him.

We chose the jetty to lope down and heard the high cry of curlews above the wind's and sea's constant presence. Oh and the salt air awaking the sea bound heart forgotten while inland. The lights of the towns R enclosing us in human presence even as we walked away from abode and shop. All that water immovable yet fluid. The wind from no-where to who knows but direct. This is a place that I have met with the lover so many times and often in desperate moments of despair and insecurity. A place I had called out from into the dark and wide sky. We are calling now but without the desperation and together at last.

Shouted Freedom and truth into the wind and up to the sky and into the sea. The sand itself may have vibrated in a whisper of approval. We declare we want God and no other. The tide is rushing in but we risk the unknown walk to the next set of steps. We are up for adventure and know that in all things worthwhile there must be risk. The tide is lapping at the wall to the land not to back where we a little while ago walked. The spray licking at our faces now noticeably made of bigger droplets. Yet we feel not fear but exhilaration at finding ourselves brave in the face of the unknown. New souls tread in big footprints upon the sand, covering old ground and trusting in healing.
