A while back I posted a very angry post about tumblarity which I later recalled as after being challenged by others and praying about it decided the language I used was not appropriate. However I do still stand by the core of my message. What is with the world and ranking and rating everything? Next we’ll see: What’s more beautiful; an oak tree or a butterfly? How do you rate that? Why try? Why must everything have a number or value attached to it so that a hierarchy is created. After Millenia of such systems have we not found them inadequate? Some powerful at the top, most powerless at the bottom. Obvioulsy here I am talking about more than rating wild life or blog sites. Surely there is a better way. Where the ‘little people’ don’t win, but that there are no ‘little people’.
